MotoGP Assen Results 2017

With more passing than you’d see at an April 20 party, the 2017 Motul Assen TT was one of the more riveting races in recent memory. Tech 3 Yamaha rookie sensation Johann Zarco led the first 11 laps from pole. Meanwhile, Valentino Rossi and Ducati brute Danilo Petrucci were in the heart of the lead group along with Marc Marquez on the Repsol Honda. But Rossi – fast, patient and strategic – managed to beat Petrucci to the flag by .06 seconds. They don’t call him The Doctor for nothing….

Wheels & Waves 2017 Report: The Best Yet, Six Years Later

A banner hung outside the ArtRide exhibition stated: ‘You are not in France, you are not in Spain; welcome to Basque Country.’ At this sixth iteration of Wheels & Waves, the sign should have read ‘Southsiders Country,’ as 20,000 guests of this festival of surf/moto culture invaded the sleepy town of Biarritz, filling all the hotel rooms, Airbnbs, and camping spots, plus every bar with a sidewalk. The Basque region isn’t a hotbed of alt.custom culture, and is a long way from Paris, Berlin, or Milan—where you’ll find the majority…

Briar on Fire: Bauman Wins Lima Half-Mile, Breaks Indian Win Streak

Briar Bauman broke the Indian Motorcycle win streak with a solid victory at the 2017 Lima Half-Mile. (American Flat Track/Scott Hunter Photo) The 2017 edition of the Lima Half-Mile presented by Indian Motorcycle had it all: intense race action, dramatic twists and turns with massive championship implications, and an underdog winner. Round 9 of the American Flat Track schedule had all the makings of a promoter’s dream, however racer-promoter Jared Mees (No. 9 Indian Motorcycle Rogers Racing Scout FTR750) was helpless to do anything but watch from the fences as…

Need advice on what bike to get

So I currently have a gen 1 klr650. Has treated me great on the road and a little off road. Thing is a pig off road. I’d like to do some more technical single track trails that are suited for more for dirt bikes. But my dilemma is that I will also commute on it in city, not highway (I have a car for highway commutes). I’ve been looking at the wr450f and crf450x since they are street legal where live (SoAZ). I’d like a bike to ride in the…

Advice on speedo

Looking to throw a speedometer on my bike because it’s getting to be a pain in the ass matching speed with traffic or just guessing how fast I’m going. I know the Trailtech Vapor is really popular, but I wanted to see if ya’ll had any other options that you’re fond of. submitted by /u/VomitsDoritos [link] [comments] Advice on speedo Source: Reddit Dualsport

Should I trade up to a WR450 and KTM690?

So, I rode dirt bikes for about 5 years, street bikes for about ten years after that and then took a 10 year hiatus. About two years ago I decided I needed to pick up a bike again and got an xr650, followed by a DRZ400. The bikes have been awesome, but instead of quenching the flanes they’ve stoked the fire. I like both for different reasons, the drz because it is nimble on the trails and easy to ride, but it feels a little weak for my 225 lbs,…

Dual sporting a hypermotard?

I want a dual sport to replace my FZ09, but I don’t like any of the options available. Dual Sports are either too heavy, lack power, are dated tech, or a combination of all of those. I was looking at a Hypermotard 1100 as a possible replacement, and with some body protection and engine with TKC80’s I think it would be a pretty fantastic dual sport, if not a little… aggressively powered. submitted by /u/Ridethepig101 [link] [comments] Dual sporting a hypermotard? Saturday MotoGP Summary at Assen: Weird Grids, Hot Tires, And Team Troubles

Motorcycle racing is an outdoor sport. The riders are at the mercy of the elements. Not just the riders, but the teams and factories too. A bike that works well in the dry may be terrible in the wet. A bike that is strong in the wet may struggle when […] The post Saturday MotoGP Summary at Assen: Weird Grids, Hot Tires, And Team Troubles appeared first on Asphalt & Rubber.
